The NASA story

NASA (National AeroSpace Administration) was founded in 1958 for compete with the Soviet Union in space exploration. It was the most important space agency in that moment and now.

The first objective to achieve of NASA was to put a man into space, more than 100 km attitude, and other man to a stable orbit around the Earth. This objectives was completed only one month later than the Soviet Union. In 1961, president John F Kennedy announced the next and principal objective of the agency in the decade: put a man in the moon. That was realized in 1969 with Apollo missions in which twelve man's get to the moon surface. Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin was the firsts.

Now NASA's got other objectives like the planetary exploration, the cooperation with ISS (Internatioand Space Station) and the search for alien life.
